Konstantinos Koutroumpas

Short Introduction

I graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2005 from the University of Patras and I received the Doctorate of Sciences from the Automatic Control Laboratory (Institut für Automatik, IfA) of the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in 2010. From February 2011 till August 2015 I was a Post-Doctoral researcher in the institute of Systems and Synthetic Biology in Evry, France. From July 2013 to October 2013 I was visiting researcher at the Cell Networks Protein Evolution group based at the University of Heidelberg. Since September 2015 I am post-doctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Mathematics in Interaction with Computer Science at Ecole Centrale Paris.

My research interests lie in the fields of Computational and Statistical Genetics, and Computational Biology with an emphasis in Systems Medicine and Personalized Health. Currently, I am working on the modelling of Wnt signalling pathway studying its role on premature encephalopathy. On the technological side, I am working on Bayesian inference by Approximate Bayesian Computation and Sequential Monte Carlo methods.
