Abstract: I present a paper which introduces a model of bacteria cell composition with respect to their medium. By modeling the bacterium as an interconnection of subsystems, the problem is written as a nonsmooth convex optimization problem equivalent to a Linear Programming feasibility problem. We will also discuss the extension of this prediction method of cell composition to models of individual plant growth, with the objective of coupling plant cell description and physiological functioning at higher scales.
